Your pre-race base layer. Steady energy before you even start.
Gels fuel you on course. Energy Powder is what you drink before the gun goes off. One scoop of chocolate, mixed cold, 30 to 45 minutes before your run, delivers 1 to 2 hours of steady LIVSTEADY energy with zero sugar and zero crash.
It is the base layer elite marathoners build their race on: powder before, gels during, electrolytes throughout. Naturally sweetened, gentle on the stomach, and it actually tastes like chocolate.

Real chocolate, no sugar, and ninety minutes of steady fuel.
Mix it cold with water for race mornings, or with milk when it doubles as breakfast on a training day. It is the flavour people reach for when a fruit drink feels wrong at 5am.
LIVSTEADY releases its energy across 90 minutes or more rather than all at once, so your output holds from the opening kilometre into the back half instead of arriving early and leaving early.
LIVSTEADY corn starch, cocoa, natural flavours, two gums, salt and stevia leaf extract. No added sugar, no maltodextrin, no caffeine. If pre-workout formulas have upset your stomach before, this is the reset.
“UCAN is a game-changer for energy and recovery. I wasn’t worried about rescuing my body from a crash, instead I had consistent energy levels that allowed me to focus on running, not fueling. Being able to have energy without sugar really made a big difference for me, especially later in my career.”
Meb Keflezighi, 4x US Olympian, Boston and NYC Marathon Winner

The complete UCAN stack: powder before the start, gels on course, protein for recovery.
The pre-run ritual that carries you through the first half without touching a gel.
One scoop into 300ml of cold water or milk. Shake for ten seconds. LIVSTEADY comes online while you warm up, so the energy is there from your first step.
For marathons and long runs, take two scoops before the start rather than one. That doubles the carbohydrate you begin with, which is what buys you a quieter first half.
Powder before, gels on course. Starting with a full base means you carry fewer gels and your stomach has less to deal with over the back half.

LIVSTEADY is UCAN’s patented slow release carbohydrate, made from non-GMO corn and hydrothermally cooked without chemicals or enzymes. It is a complex carbohydrate rather than a sugar, and it releases its energy across 90 minutes or more.
For athletes that means output that holds through a session instead of arriving fast and leaving fast, in a formula light enough to drink shortly before a hard effort. Marathoners Meb Keflezighi, Sara Hall and Dakotah Popehn race on it, as does triathlete Tim O’Donnell.
Powder before. Gels during. Electrolytes throughout. This is how UCAN athletes fuel a marathon.
One to two scoops, 30 minutes before the start. Your steady base for the first half.

Drink one serving 30 minutes before you start. LIVSTEADY needs that window to come online, and the head start is what carries you through the first hour without reaching for a gel.
Both, but for different jobs. Energy Powder is your pre-run base, drunk before you start. Edge gels are your on-course fuel, taken while running. Most UCAN marathoners preload with powder, then use 2 to 3 gels across the race instead of the usual 5 to 6 sugar gels.
Neither. Chocolate Energy Powder is completely sugar-free and caffeine-free, naturally sweetened with stevia. The energy comes from LIVSTEADY, a slow-releasing carbohydrate, so there is no spike and no crash.
LIVSTEADY is UCAN’s own carbohydrate, made by applying a patented cooking method to a specific strain of non-GMO corn. No chemicals, no enzymes. It is a large molecule complex carbohydrate, which is what lets it clear the stomach quickly and then release its energy slowly.
es. Take two scoops 30 minutes before the start, then fuel on course with Edge gels. Test the full routine across two or three long runs before you take it into a race. Our marathon fuelling guide has the complete plan.
Drink UCAN 30-45 minutes before your workout for sustained energy. For longer endurance training, drink 1 scoop of UCAN every 60-90 minutes for sustained energy.
One scoop into 300 ml of cold water for race mornings, or milk or a smoothie for everyday use. Shake well. Use cold water, not hot, or the texture change
