Why Runners Choose Unflavoured Edge
For long efforts, sensitive palates, and anyone who mixes their own.
Nothing to Get Sick Of
Flavour fatigue ends more fuelling plans than cramp does. With no taste at all there is nothing to turn against you at hour three, which is why ultra runners and Ironman athletes reach for this one.
Mix It Into Anything
Squeeze a pouch into your bottle and it disappears. You add LIVSTEADY carbohydrate to the drink you already use without two flavours fighting each other for the next three hours.
Zero Sugar, Zero Crash
The same LIVSTEADY formula as every Edge gel, minus the flavouring. Energy released gradually across 75+ minutes, with nothing added that your stomach has to deal with.
Serving size: 1 pouch (53g). Servings per box: 12. Net weight: 636g.

Straight from the pouch
Take it like any other gel. No taste, thin texture, no water chaser needed. The simplest option on a long run once you have stopped enjoying flavour, which for most runners is somewhere around the two hour mark.
Into your bottle
Squeeze one pouch into 500ml along with your usual electrolyte mix. You get 19g of LIVSTEADY carbohydrate without a second flavour competing with it. Common practice in Ironman and ultra bottles where you are drinking the same thing for hours.
Alternating with a flavoured gel
Swap between unflavoured and a flavoured pouch across a long race. Your carbohydrate stays steady and your palate gets a break, which is usually what stops people fuelling properly in the last hour.

Many athletes combine all four: powder before the start, plain Edge early, electrolyte when it heats up, caffeine gel late in the race. Values vary by flavour, so check the label on the pack you buy.
What is LIVSTEADY
LIVSTEADY is UCAN’s patented slow releasing carbohydrate, made from non-GMO corn and hydrothermally cooked without chemicals or enzymes. It is a complex carbohydrate, not a sugar, that releases energy gradually over 75 minutes or more.
For runners that means steady, long lasting energy with no fast burst followed by a crash, and it is gentle on the stomach even during hard efforts. The same fuel trusted by elite marathoners and by former NFL Comeback Player of the Year Alex Smith.

Almost nothing. It is very slightly starchy and completely neutral, which is the point. There is no flavour to get tired of over a long race, and nothing that clashes when you mix it into a drink.
Yes, and many athletes do. Squeeze one pouch into 500ml along with your usual electrolyte mix. You add 19g of LIVSTEADY carbohydrate without changing how your drink tastes.
Neither. Zero sugar, zero caffeine, no flavouring added. It is the plainest product in the UCAN range.
One pouch 30 minutes before the start, then one every 45 to 60 minutes while you are running. A four hour marathon works out at five to six pouches. A box of 12 covers race day plus your two longest training runs.
Yes. Same LIVSTEADY base, same 19g of carbohydrate, same 75+ minutes of energy per pouch. The only difference is that nothing has been added for taste.
No. The texture is thin enough to take on its own. If you are mixing it into a bottle, one pouch per 500ml works well.
Which plain Edge flavour?
