Mixed Berry at 2:15 and 3:15 into the race. Caffeine free Edge for your other pouches, one every 60 minutes.
A starting point, not a prescription. The planner caps your day at 3 mg of caffeine per kg of body weight, the low end of the range used in sports nutrition research (International Society of Sports Nutrition position stand on caffeine, 2021), and never goes past the daily maximum of 4 pouches of Mixed Berry or Watermelon, or 2 pouches of Mocha. Try the plan on a long run before you race it. Formulated supplementary sports food, not suitable for children under 15 years of age or pregnant women. More in caffeine before running.
One pouch 30 minutes before the start, then one every 60 minutes once you go past 90 minutes. Count every Edge pouch, whatever the flavour.

“I've used UCAN my entire marathon career.”
Great taste, easy to digest, easy to consume. Lasted through my Ironman!
Colleen M.Ironman, Orange MangoI never go out riding my bicycles unless I have a pouch of ucan, halfway my ride I take it and I finish my rides strong.
Jose L.Cycling, Orange MangoFirst running gel that I've tried and was not disappointed! Tasted pretty good and agreed really well with my stomach which usually has issues while I run.
Silas B.Running, Edge Variety PackLove these gels! Enough energy and perfect consistency. Easy on the stomach!
Megan M.Running, Lemon Lime + ElectrolyteLove the taste, so refreshing! I just switched from another popular brand… I haven't had any gut bombs yet with this! So far so good!
Laura O.Long runs and racing, Strawberry Kiwi + ElectrolyteThe flavor is great. I appreciate the added electrolytes. And all UCAN gels I have had go down easily, though these have become my favorite.
Drew W.Would recommend, Cherry + ElectrolyteFueled my run with just the right amount of "boost" needed to complete my run efficiently. And loved that it didn't nausiate me…
Elizabeth L.Running, Edge + Electrolyte starter packhonestly, a little more chalky than i expected BUT easy on the stomach so worth it

Many athletes combine all four. Powder before the start, plain Edge early, electrolyte when it heats up, caffeine gel late in the race. Values vary by flavour, so check the label on the pack you buy.
LIVSTEADY is UCAN's patented slow releasing carbohydrate, made from non-GMO corn and hydrothermally cooked without chemicals or enzymes. It is a complex carbohydrate, not a sugar, that releases energy gradually over 75 minutes or more.
For runners that means steady, long lasting energy without a fast burst and a drop, and it is gentle on the stomach even during hard efforts. The same fuel trusted by Team UCAN athletes, including marathoners Meb Keflezighi and Sara Hall and triathlete Tim O'Donnell.
